Application of multiple collecting funnels is very common in Thailand, i should say … a gadget NOT to be missed in distillation set up. Many Thai factories where they use not 1 .. but 2 or 3 collecting funnels. The hydrosol passing through each funnel and going back to the boiler.
Once cooking is complete each of the 3 collecting funnels contains oil with a slightly different scent profile.
