Formulation : Water soluble granules
Type : Contact / Systemic / Translaminar
IRAC : 9B
Ovicidal : Yes / No
Target Pests : Aphids, Thrips, Whiteflies
Speed of Action : Fast / Medium / Slow
Mode Of Action : Target pests come in contact or ingestion provoking rapid and irreversible feeding cessation. Pests could remain on the plant until they desciccate. As long as the aphids or planthoppers are exposed to pymetrozine almost immediately resulting stop feeding, because the salivary pumps of the insects are being blocked (nerve actions). The honey dew production is also quickly stopped and eventually starvation to death, and this process is irreversible.
The initial mortality rate of insects treated with pymetrozine was very low, and insects survived for several days before death, and the mortality rate was related to climatic conditions. The results showed that the feeding activity of the aphids was reduced by about 90% within 3 hours after the treatment, and the mortality rate was close to 100% after 48 hours of treatment.
Pymetrozine will play an important role in reducing risk of resistance development against the other insecticides registered for use against biting and sucking insects, particulary against neonicotinoids (IRAC 4A) in aphids, and pyriproxifen ( IRAC 7C) in whiteflies.
Singly application of Pymetrozine will not yield rapid effect of pests removal, pests could remain on the plant, which confuse farmers about its effectiveness. therefore it is recommended to tank mix with other pesticide for better result.
Impact on beneficial organisms : Pymetrozine is gentle against beneficials, but it is harmful to bees. It must not be used on flowering plants or plants visited by bees.
Recommended application : This product is integrated with Nitenpyram
(IRAC 4A)
Recommended dosage : 3~4 gm / 20 Liter
