油棕树也打补针

在医学上，直接把药物注射进入人体，可取得非常快速的药效。很多人却不知道，除了人，树也可被“打针”。
我国是世界著名的棕油生产国，处处都可看到油棕树。一直以来，约99%的油棕园主均採用“粒状”肥料施肥。
直到3年多前，本地一家肥料廠商研发了液状有机肥料，向油棕树“打补针”。

Purpose of planting “Gaharu”

The objective of planting Aquilaria is the production of quality resinous wood from young plantation-grown trees.

If no such wood is found within the tree…

….it has very little economic value.

A healthy aquilaria tree without oleoresin is a mere Sg=0.38.
(Water is having Sg=1, Rubberwood Sg=0.56~0.64 , Teak Sg=0.63~0.72 )
Anything having Sg<1 will float when put into the water. Wood without oleoresin is not even valuable to be used as firewood.
